Dr. George Stergiopoulos is an Assistant Professor of ICT, Industrial and Telecommunications Security with University of the Aegean, Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering, and a Research partner of Athens University of Economics and Business and University of Piraeus.
He also works as an ICT/OT Security Consultant. He has a Ph.D. degree on Information Security software and Critical Infrastructure Protection from the Department of Informatics, Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece, an M.Sc. degree on Information Technology from Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece and a B.Sc. degree on Computer Science from the University of Piraeus.

Current research interests focus on Industrial Systems Security, Critical Infrastructure Protection, IT and Network Security, Risk Assessment and Security in Software Engineering. He has published more than 30 articles in journals and conference proceedings.
Professional experience includes working as a consultant in ICT and information security projects for developing Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) according to ISO 27001, ISO 62443, and their US equivalents from NIST SP800-30, SP800-53 and SP800-82. Experience also includes the developments of enterprise Security Plans, Business Continuity Plans, Destruction Recovery plans and assessing enterprises against IT threats and risks through governance, compliance, identification, and validation. He also works as an IT and OT security penetration tester. George was also employed as an Interim Agent at the European Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA).
